NYH at the Apple Blossom Parade: Street Hockey and Candy Tossing

Come join us! The Westford Kiwanis will celebrate the 51st anniversary of the Apple Blossom Festival and this year the parade is sure to be a blast!

NYH will be "marching" (playing street hockey!) and passing out candy. Everyone associated with NYH is welcome to march! Players, Coaches, Parents, Siblings and Friends. (Please make sure that anyone under 13 is accompanied by an adult.)

Details:
Date: Saturday May 18th

Time:   Please arrive by 9:00am. The parade will kick off at 10:00 AM and proceed towards Abbot School.

Location: Randolph Circle. Spot 41.

Attire: Jerseys, jackets, shorts - anything with NYH on it! Huge bonus points for anyone that shows up in a bear costume!

What to bring:  Bring your street hockey sticks and balls. This year, the nets will be on rollers making for a super fun time for all!    We will provide candy for the kids to pass out.

R.S.V.P.  Not required but appreciated.  Please feel free to indicate attendance via our Facebook event or email mfriedman@nashobahockey.com

May 13th: Chalk Talks Series! Play.Love.Excel.

Chalk Talks Series

Come join us for the first session of our new Chalk Talk Series as Roger Grillo, USA Hockey Regional Manager of the American Development Model presents

"Play. Love .Excel - Changing How Our Kids Practice and Play."

During this engaging presentation, attendees will learn how to create an environment that helps kids not only reach their full potential, but also develop a lifelong passion for sports.

We anticipate hosting a Q&A session, but please feel free to pre-submit any questions for Roger via email.

The events are free and open to anyone interested in learning more about improving youth sports.

About our speaker:  Roger was a NHL 10th round draft pick, long time college coach and is the current USA Hockey Regional Manager of the American Development Model.

CHALK TALKS OVERVIEW

Did you know that over 70% of the 35 million children that participate in organized youth sports drop out by the age of 13? This alarming rate means that many kids are missing opportunities for socialization, character development, exercise and fun!  It’s a startling fact and one that we hope to address with the launch of our CHALK TALKS NYH Speaker Series! Aimed at providing insight and information to parents of youth athletes (not just hockey!) in MA and NH, we will host a variety of engaging speakers throughout the year.  Key topics will include Building Sportsmanship, The Myths of Youth Sports, Cross-sport participation, Health & Nutrition, etc..  The events will be open to anyone interested in learning more about improving youth sports.
