Backyard Goalie Pads Need a Home

These are midget/adult-sized goalie pads that are in good condition.   They are really not worn-out at all.    But they are old and pretty heavy, and unlikely to be used by NYHA goalies during games.    If you'd like them for your backyard rink or for driveway use, let me know.     Free to an NYHA member, and free delivery is a good possibility if you are near Westford.

Nashoba Midget AAA play in State Tournament

2017 Nashoba Midget AAA State Qualifiers

The Nashoba Midget AAA team recently competed in the Mass Hockey Tier 2 State Tournament. The games were held at the Gallo Arena in Bourne, Ma. The Grizzlies went 2 for 3 in the round robin part of the tournament.

In the first game, the Grizzlies played the Cape Cod Canal Sharks to a 2 to 2 tie at the end of regulation. After playing a 5 minute, sudden death 3 vs 3 period, the score was still knotted at 2 apiece. Nashoba then went to a sudden death shoot out where Max Ray scored first and Roger Carter stopped the Shark's shooter for the win.

In the second game, with goals by Jacob Montepeluso, Parker Fisher James Peterson and Nick Brown, the Grizzles defeated the Martha's Vineyard Mariners 4 - 2.

The Grizzlies were defeated in the 3rd game by the 3-time state champs, Charlestown. Arguably the best game of the season, the final score was 1 - 0. The score was 0 - 0 through 2 and Charlestown scored the winner at the 8 minute mark of the third period.

Nashoba played the semi-final game Sunday morning against Winthrop and unfortunately, came out on the loosing end of a 4 - 0 score. Winthrop then went on to play Charlestown in the finals and Charlestown won for the 4th year in a row by a score of 3 - 2.
